The term hardscaping is used by landscapers to describe the construction materials which are used to improve a landscape by design. The hard components of the landscape- the large pieces of hard material make up the bulk of the of landscape materials ie: the rock, the stone, the features. These are typically referred to the hardscape materials. These are essential in creating a sense of space and tying in the garden and landscape to the rest of the outside world and to the look and feel of the home, office park, retirement village or estate.
